Boiler Repair Process
Our
Corgi registered plumbers will go through a rigorous testing
cycle to analyse your boiler to find the root of the fault. As
part of examining the boiler and the connections to it, the
plumber will check:
- Flow and return pipes (to/from the
boiler)
- Boiler flame firing
- Flue positioning and heat
- Lockout on the boiler
- FCU fuse (power to system)
- Controls (programmers,
thermostats)
- Boiler pump
- System pressure

Boiler servicing contracts: Boiler part replacement
costs
Most common boiler problems
and replacement costs
For
those who don?t want a boiler servicing contract, we
have put to gather a small list , to say how much
common boiler faults cost to repair.
Prices
are average costs charged by Pace heating & Plumbing,
including parts, labour and VAT. Costs will vary
depending on your boiler type and labour costs where you
live.
Parts
are in the order that needed to replace them
during a 12-month period ending in May 2008.
Diverter/zone valves were the most frequently replaced
parts and the pressure relief valve the least.
A
regular service to your boiler should help prolong the
life of your boiler and its parts, but you could be
better off putting money aside in savings account or
cash Isa in the event of having to pay for boiler
repairs.

Heat exchanger and burner
PHP
has not needed to replace a burner or heat exchanger in
the last 12 months, but if these parts breakdown, they
aren?t cheap to replace.
The
burner mixes and burns air and gas inside the boiler,
and the heat exchanger transfers that heat to the water.
we quotes a price of approximately ?250 to replace a
burner, and approximately ?400 for a heat exchanger.
Electric heaters
Heating engineers may not always have the necessary
parts to make repairs immediately, and if parts are not
easily available, you may be left with no heating for a
few days. It's worth having a few portable heaters
stowed away in case this happens |
